How to start reading?

In Montessori, young children start their journey in the world of literacy by identifying sounds of the alphabets (aka phonics). This is an essential step before they explore deeper. Once they have mastered phonics, the fun begins by learning to blend 2-letter sounds (aka word family). This builds up their confidence and persistence to read. The next stage is the 3-letter word building and reading. When your little ones reached that stage, congratulations! They are ready to read more words. Creating opportunity and exploration is key.

If you have read the above, great job to you! You have gained some knowledge of Montessori teaching. We create our learning resources with the Montessori apparatus as inspiration, coupled with elements of fun and practical skills.

Much love, One Child Learning
