The picture above shows one of the early stages in Montessori literacy. Young children begin by listening and watching their educator saying the sounds and tracing the letter shape of the alphabet. They learn by observation and exploration of their senses.
Creating opportunities for them to use their senses impart deeper meaning for the little ones. Letting them touch, listen and watch gives children the autonomy to do things using their bodies. Montessori encourages children to be focused and independent when accomplishing their tasks. All these transverse from a simple activity of observation and exploration of senses.
Here we create our learning resources with the Montessori apparatus as inspiration, coupled with elements of fun and practical skills. Stay tuned!
Much love, One Child Learning
